Flushing Queens Woman Arrested on Prostitution Charge

              A police investigation into suspected prostitution at the Angel Spa on Pompton Avenue led to the arrest of a Flushing, Queens woman on a charge of engaging in prostitution.  The 46 year-old defendant, Shiqing Liu, was arrested at the Angel Spa on February 18, 2014 on a charge she engaged in a sexual activity with another person in exchange for US currency.  At the time of her arrest, Liu was an Angel Spa employee working as a masseuse.  The investigation, which included a variety of investigative means including surveillance, was conducted by the Cedar Grove Police Detective Bureau, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police.  The investigation initiated following citizen complaints alleging prostitution at the location.  The defendant was processed on the charge at police headquarters and released pending a Municipal Court appearance on March 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
