Cedar Grove Police Identify Roseland Man as Foodtown Wallet Theft Suspect


          The Cedar Grove Police Department has identified and charged a Roseland man in connection with the Monday, August 5, 2013 theft of a woman’s wallet at the Cedar Grove Foodtown Supermarket on Pompton Avenue.  The 35 year-old suspect, Jason A. Marx, was identified after police received multiple calls from persons recognizing him from the store surveillance video showing him removing the victim’s wallet from her pocketbook while she was momentarily distracted while shopping.  A warrant for Marx’s arrest has been issued and police are currently attempting to locate him.  Marx is also a suspect in a similar incident in West Caldwell.  The Cedar Grove Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance in the quick identification of Marx.

All persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
