Woodland Park Man Arrested on Charges of Weapons Possession, Marijuana Distribution
The Cedar Grove Police Department has announced the arrest of Nicholas A. Rusignuolo, 19, of Woodland Park on charges relating to illegal weapons possession and marijuana distribution. Rusignuolo’s arrest followed a two month long Narcotics Bureau investigation into reports that the defendant was selling marijuana in the Township. The investigation led to the issuance and execution of search warrants for the defendant and his vehicle on May 8, 2012 on Slattery Drive. Subsequent to search warrant execution, the defendant was found to be in possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, two knives, including a specifically prohibited switch blade knife, and drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale, packaging material and six marijuana pipes. Rusignuolo was processed on the following charges and released pending a Superior Court Arraignment on May 16, 2012 in Newark: Possession with Intent to Distribute Over One Ounce of CDS Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Over One Ounce of CDS Marijuana Within 500 ft. of a Public Park, Possession of CDS Marijuana Over 50 Grams, Possession of a Weapon Under Circumstances Not Manifestly Appropriate for Such Possession, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Weapons While Distributing CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Lt. Joseph Cirasa, Lt. Erik Hansson, Ptl. Jose Rodriguez and Ptl. Dominick Buscio of the Narcotics Bureau participated in the investigation along members of the Verona Police Department.
